09/28

Do not judge the bereaved mother. She comes in many forms. She is breathing but she is dying. She may look young but inside she has become ancient. She smiles but her heart sobs.
She walks, she talks, she cooks, she cleans, she works, she IS but she IS NOT, all at the sane time. She is here but part of her is elsewhere for eternity.

Re living the agony

This is a difficult month for our family
You Forgot To Tell My Heart How to Go On Without you
It is almost impossible to believe that its four years since our world was turned upside down.
You may see us working, going places and trying to continue without our angel...it takes tremendous effort to fit into the "normal". We are forever changed, and if I learned anything over these last four years, it's that time does not heal all wounds....love does.
The love that continues to surround our family
and the prayers that are continuous.
As for the time that we have been separated, it is a gaping hole in our hearts, that can never be replaced. We are learning everyday to live with this tremendous loss.
Grief is un-explainable at this magnitude.

We are continuing to trust in the plan God has for us, knowing all along he is comforting us through our family, friends, and acquaintances, we feel the Blessings of all.

When you end your busy day, take a moment to embrace your loved ones, show kindness and love. Every second with them is precious and you don't know how quickly that can change. We take so much for granted, in our life that stopped on 09/28/2011.
Please continue to pray for us as we remember this tragic month, and also remember how Nicole's life changed yours.
We are forever grateful for the gift God gave us of Nicole's precious life, the lessons she taught us and the constant grace he pours out on us.

The day I saw this picture, my heart filled with JOY...I never would believe it would be your headstone.

You will always be connected to me, even from heaven to earth.

I celebrate your life my child, this Mother's day as you celebrate with your child in heaven

Every breathe that I take ....you are with me...my love

Look Up

This Is A Video EVERYONE Needs To See. For The First Time In My Life, I'm Speechless.

“This media we call social is anything but, when we open our computers and it’s our doors we shut”… This is one of the most vital messages that everyone needs to hear.
Look Up is a spoken word for the “online” generation. Written, performed and directed by Gary Turk, it is an extremely important life lesson for our youth.  Children are growing up in a world where they don’t play outside or communicate with their friends. It seems today everything is done via text message or over the internet. It’s heartbreaking… I feel guilty myself. We need to spread this message before it’s too late. Please do your part and SHARE it with everyone you know.

Peace be with you

Friends,

Peace be with you!

With these words, the Risen Lord Jesus greeted his disciples--and they still reverberate today. Through them, God offers new and abundant life, which is Christ's own divine life, given to the world so we can all share communion with God. This makes us his friends, and the defining characteristic of being God's friend is to know him.

Throughout Lent, over 155,000 pilgrims received my daily Lent reflections. My hope was to do more than just offer you information. I wanted to introduce you to God, in Christ, so that you might know him as your friend.

That's precisely why I founded Word On Fire Catholic Ministries, to invite people into friendship with Christ and to share his life in his Church. The Word On Fire apostolate offers you many resources toward that mission. Each day you'll find articles, videos, blog posts, and homilies to help strengthen your faith and evangelize the culture. The best part is that all of it is free!

My hope is that these many resources help you deepen your friendship with God, in Christ, and in knowing him better, introduce him to others.

That said, many of you have asked, what's next after the Lent reflections? How do I maintain the spiritual momentum I developed during this holy season? I'll offer two practical suggestions:

First, visit WordFromRome.com. In a couple days I'll be traveling to Rome for the canonization of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII. During the trip I'll share exclusive, behind-the-scenes video reflections. So be sure to visit and sign up at WordFromRome.com to receive them.

Second, commit to one new spiritual practice, right now. There's simply no better way to carry on your Lenten progress. Read through the Gospel of Mark, one chapter per day; spend some time with the Blessed Sacrament on a regular basis; commit to attending one extra Mass each week; pray the rosary once a day, maybe in your car. All of these are simple, proven ways to deepen your spiritual life.

Once more, thanks for journeying with me this Lent. And now we celebrate:

Christ is truly risen! Amen! Alleluia!

Peace,
Fr. Robert Barron

Count Your Blessings

Don't forget to Thank God for the gift's in your life....and if you are feeling like you can't see the gift's he has given you...maybe the trials in your life are to bring you closer to HIM...in that lies your gift.

Happy Thanksgiving

 Bring Me Peace

When your daughter dies and you think you are starting to heal -- you are.
You are healing.
As much as someone whose broken heart struggles to beat on the outside of their body can heal.

But when your daughter dies the pain can hit you out of the blue at anytime, for any reason. The fact that you live each day without her is reason enough.

And when your daughter dies it defines you. But you wouldn't want it not to. Sometimes the only thing I want people to know about me is that my daughter died. Nothing more.

When your daughter dies you live in a dream world. Aware that you are "doing MUCH better", thriving even, but constantly aware that she is not there.

The good times aren't so much "good" as they are triumphant. Because enjoying yourself, feeling at peace, having fun...those aren't your run-of-the mill emotions you experience easily after your daughter's death. They are hard earned rewards for having HOPE.

When your daughter dies you don't fear or fight getting older. You embrace it and have the ULTIMATE gift to look forward to the promise God gave us; to be together again for all eternity.--while simultaneously wondering and struggling with living your everyday life on earth and how you will possibly make it.

Launching A Saint

It Is September...the beginning of fall....a month I loved
It held a different meaning for me over the last two years. It is impossible not to remember the pain and suffering of your child.
As we approached September, my heart raced, I felt anxious, and concerned how I would feel.
As each day on the calendar draws closer to the saddest day of my life, I recall the heartache, the nightmare that was our life for 21 days.
As I write this, and it has been a long time since I have, it was pouring rain, all of a sudden it stopped, and a ray of sun is streaming into my window and onto my keyboard. Her presence is felt, I felt it all day today and that is what drew me to write.

She knows we suffer, she knows we are trying and so she sends us a glimmer of hope, a fond memory to cover up the tragic ones.
It seems hard to believe we are coming up on two years without our Angel, but as in all things life just keeps moving us along.
And so I wonder after two years, has your life changed?
Did the chain we created of love, hope and faith continue for you? or, as time passed did you slide back into your old ways?
Have you remembered to stop and pray...to feel God's love and precence in your life?
I'm sure this is the Holy Spirit at work in me right now and Nicole's message must continue.
Through her suffering we have had many gifts of grace, I know she wants that to continue for all of us...therefore the plea continues, to love and cherish what you have and what God has given you. Don't take for granted that tomorrow will come, live for the moments you have and do it with glory to the Father who bestowed you with these gifts. Some may say their life is nothing but a cross...but a cross given to us by God can be pure love. It is meant to be embraced and to grow from it. Your cross that you think is to hard to bare will draw you closer to him, and the closer you come to the Father the more you are consoled. The more you will see love and compassion.
If we focus on God's love and promise for eternal life, you will gladly pick up your cross so you can be closer to his love.
We will all suffer here on this earth..none of us spared, but how we take our suffering and unite it to the cross of Christ, is what makes the difference for us.
Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted, place your heart in the loving hands of Jesus and allow him to heal you. He has held our family in his embrace and we will continue to praise his name and give thanks for the gifts
